Famous Nigerian Singer, Folarin Falana, also known as Falz has lent his voice to the Black Lives Matter, BLM movement.
The singer in a post on his Twitter and Instagram pages posted a photo of himself with the caption “Na Black we Black” boldly written on the front side of his clothe as he also writes another caption that reads “We no kill person.”
Both the caption on the clothe and the one on the photo simply connotes that it is not a crime to be a black man which is in tune with what the BLM movement stands for.
The BLM is a movement that advocates for non-violent civil disobedience in protest against incidents of police brutality against African-American people in the United States of America.
The movement has about sixteen chapters in the U.S and Canada, while a larger BLM movement exists consisting of various separate like-minded organizations.
Black Lives Matter
BLM also advocate against various policy changes considered to be related to black liberation.
The movement which began with the use of the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter on social media in July 2013 gained further international attention during the global George Floyd protests in 2020.
The protests were organised following the murder of Floyd by Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer.
However, research shows that the majority of Americans have expressed support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
