Clara, the estranged wife of Sullivan Chime, ex-gov of Enugu state speaks out to the FCT High Court in Apo, Abuja on why she left her matrimonial home.
Clara made a stunning allegation against her estranged husband, saying she left for fear of her life. While being cross-examined by the counsel for Chime, Paul Oniya, in the petition filed by the ex-gov to dissolve their 11-year marriage.
She told the court that she met her husband while he was a governor. During that period she bought two cars (a Lexus 570 SUV and a BMW S6) with her own money.
She also acquired a landed property from the Enugu State Housing Corporation which she also paid for after leaving the office.
Clara said, “I have the title documents of the landed property.”
She disclosed that she is unaware of how much Chime ears as a pension. Clara says she is into the oil and gas business which has been sustaining her despite not receiving maintenance allowance from her husband since 2013.
She further alleges that Chime refused her from seeing her only child, who is in his custody, except during church services or social events.
The case has been adjourned to October 14 for adoption of final written addresses.
