Tottenham Hotspur Midfielder Eric Dier has been charged by the English Football F.A for misconduct, the incident happened in FA Cup game against Norwich. Eric Dier reacted very badly in their last FA Cup home game in which they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Norwich.
According to a statement released by the English F.A, it says: “Eric Dier has been charged with misconduct for a breach of FA Rule E3,” the FA said in a statement. “It is alleged that his actions at the conclusion of the fixture were improper and/or threatening.”
Eric Dier has been given until 8th of May 2020 to respond before passing judgement on him. Spurs manager Jose Mourinho speaking on the issue that occurred on that day said a fan had insulted Eric Dier to initiate the action taken by the player, he is however not in support of the player did.
He said: “I repeat we professionals cannot do it, but I repeat I am with the player and I understand the player,” he said. “The fans were with the team until the last penalty kick that we missed.” “This person insulted Eric, the family was there, the younger brother was not happy with the situation.”
The incident happened in the area behind the dugouts, which is a corporate section, he was captured in video on social media the video showed Dier running and jumping over the pitch side barriers into the stand at the end of the game. He was going to a fan who had said something bad to him, he clambered over seats until he reached the top row of seats in front of the hospitality boxes.
Another video also showed him being restrained by fans and security, while shouting “he’s my brother,” Before he was then led away by security with his arm around a fan.
