Some students of Tai Solarin University of Education(TASUED) staged a protest to demand justice for Pelumi Onifade.
These students protested at the location of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on SARS brutality which is the Lagos State Court of Arbitration, Lekki.
Pelumi Onifade was a 20-year-old journalist who was killed during one of the #EndSARS.
Resulting from the long ASUU strike, he took up a job with an online media outfit.
It was during one of his assignment that he was taken by the officers and later died in their custody days later.
According to TASUED Students’ Union President, Abdulazeez Soneye, Pelumi was last seen with the Lagos State Task Force on October 24
“He worked with Gboah TV, went to cover an incident at the Ministry of Agriculture, Abattoir, Agege, Lagos. He was found dead under mysterious circumstances a few days after his arrest,”
Soneye added that despite showing the officers his ID card and reflector jacket. Pelumi was abducted.
They demanded an explanation from CSP Saheed Egbeyemi, the task force head and Hakeem Odumosu, the Commissioner of Police.
CSP Egbeyemi said Pelumi Onifade’s case had been transferred to police for further investigation.
