Immediate past and 45th, President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump has taken a step that proves that he is not backing down in his quest to defend himself against his opposition.
Donald Trump hires new lawyers
Donald Trump has hired two new attorneys who have now taken charge of his impeachment defence team ahead of his Senate trial.
This new development comes right after the Republican losing at least five lawyers tasked with defending the former President’s impeachment.
The five lawyers who were previously in charge, including the two thought to be leaders of the team, dumped Trump after a massive internal disagreement over his legal strategy.
In a statement on Monday, Trump’s office announced that David Schoen and Bruce Castor, the new Lawyers, both with profound experience in criminal defence, will now be at the head of the new defence team in the trial that is set to begin in the US Senate on February 9, 2021.
According to the statement, “Notably, Schoen has already been working with the 45th President and other advisors to prepare for the upcoming trial.
“Both Schoen and Castor agree that this impeachment is unconstitutional – a fact 45 Senators voted in agreement with last week.”
Reacting to the appointment and announcement, Castor said he finds it a privilege to represent the 45th President of the United States.
