PSG and Argentina star forward Angel Di Maria‘s family and home were attacked while he was on the field of play in PSG’s 2-1 loss to Nantes on Sunday, in what has been referred to as a ‘violent robbery’.
Di Maria’s family attacked, held hostage
Initial information coming out of France claims that his family members were there at his home during the robbery, with the reports saying they were held hostage. Marca later reported that the family were unharmed, thankfully.
PSG’s sporting director Leonardo was spotted by TV cameras making contact with Pochettino just moments before the 62nd minute when Di Maria was substituted.
Pochettino then informed the player of the situation, and he immediately left the stadium in tears.
Di Maria is married to Jorgelina and the couple have two young children.
It is also being reported that Di Maria’s team-mate Marquinhos was also targeted on Sunday, with his parents’ house being raided.
