On Sunday night, around 1am, residents of Alasiya in Abraham Adesanya Estate area, in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, awoke to panic as suspected clash between two rival cults resulted in 5 dead.
Eyewitness at the scene told new reporters that the clash started around midnight and two of the five dead were beheaded.
Among the other three; one was slaughted, one was butchered and the last was shot to death.
The police upon arrival at the scene; were only able to recover 4 of the 5 bodies. It was reported that the parent of the 5th victim refused to release the body.
A welder, Isiak Adebayo, while condemning the rate at which youths were killing themselves in the name of cultism, charged security agents to restore normalcy in the area.
Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said four corpses that were probably dumped in the area were recovered, adding that the command had commenced investigation into the matter.
“Four corpses were recovered from the scene of the incident and what we are suspecting is a cult supremacy fight. We have launched an investigation into the case,” Elkana said.
