The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has shared a tragic news about how COVID-19 has affected its members.
According to the Abuja NMA chairman, Dr. Enema Amodu, twenty of its members have died within one week.
While making this known to newsmen in Abuja, professors, consultants, both senior and junior resident doctors have been lost to the deadly virus in the last one week.
While stressing that the tragic loss of these medical practitioners has further shown that the virus is very must still in the country, he lamented that the hazard allowance of the medical practitioners in just N5,000.
Amodu did not only lamented the ridiculously low hazard allowance, he called on the Speaker of the House if Representative, Femi Gbajabiamila to push for a legislation that will help in reviewing it.
The NMA chairman listed some of the items needed as the heat of the COVID-19 second wave burns across that nation to include, drugs, facemasks, hand sanitizers, intensive care units among many others.
He stressed that the Nigerians has regrettably gone back to their old ways, making the second wave of the COVID-19 to become more overwhelming.
