COVID-19: Falz Attacks FG, Calls For Reopening Of Cinemas

Nigerian artist and trained lawyer, Folarin Falana, aka Falz TheBahdguy took to his social media page today to talk about how the Federal government neglect the entertainment industry as well as calling for the reopening of cinemas and other social places.

Falz has been known to speak up when it comes to societal issues. Just like his father, Femi Falana, the rapper and award-winning actor has used his voice to speak against bad governance.

This time, he discussed how the government has refused to reopen of public places such as the cinemas, clubhouses and so on when other sectors are reopening after the lockdown has been lifted.

He mentioned how political rallies take place with no safety precautions taken. The ‘Bop Daddy‘ crooner also talked about thousands of people in the entertainment industry who have found it hard to survive because their businesses hasn’t been allowed to open.

Falz wrote in a Twitter thread ‘‘Restaurants have reopened, airlines have been operating, places of worship have also been permitted to reopen”

‘Let’s not even start to talk about all the videos that have surfaced of political rallies happening, clearly neglecting all safety precautions”

”Thousands of people have been left without any way to earn for themselves”

Falz then call out the government for not contributing to the entertainment industry but stifling it. He wrote ‘‘Right now, we don’t see anything but a government that contributes little or nothing to its creative sector and continues to attempt to stifle the sector in every way @MBuhari @ProfOsinbajo”

He then urged the FG to allow the entertainment sector to get back and running. ‘‘The entertainment industry must be allowed to gradually get back in business. Let’s start with cinemas reopening with all safety precautions in place #savecinemas #SaveEntertainment”
