Speaking about the incident, the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19 in Abia State and Secretary to the State Government, Barr Chris Ezem expressed deep frustrations as to why people find it difficult to obey simple rules and regulations. He reminded the public that they are asking them to do anything that is out of place. He further emphasised that those laws were put in place to protect each and everyone in the state. While still addressing the event, he clearly stated that the rule said there should be no mid-week service at any church.
On the issue of non-compliance to the COVID-19 protocols, the Chairman of the task force in the state reminded the traders of the Ariaria Aba market that they risk closure of the market if they continue that way. He went ahead to say that the three times a week market days stay in place till further notice.
