Samuel Chukwueze Shines Champions League
Unai Emery masterminded a 1-0 win in Spain, but his side struggled to contain the German champions Bayern Munich. Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock at the Allianz Arena in the 52nd minute of the game and set the ball rolling as they became leveled on aggregate.
But the goal from the Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze leveled the tie dramatically to give Villarreal the lead on aggregate and seal a historic victory for the Spanish side. Villarreal will now face either Liverpool or Benfica in the last four, a contest Jurgen Klopp’s side currently leads 3-1 on aggregate.
The Spanish side defeated two English Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United to win the Europa League title last season now they are faced with the option of meeting another tough English Premier League side Liverpool in the semifinals. Villarreal head coach Unai Emery turned down a juicy offer from Liverpool to remain at Villarreal and right it appears the manager is having a great time with the club.
Before the game the manager made it clear that he has confidence in his team and he is sure they will do well a d, of course, they did well. They were the least considered to win in the night but they turned things around to their favor thanks to Arnaut Danjuma’s goal at home and Samuel Chukwueze’s goal in Germany to give them victory on aggregate. Bayern Munich will now only have one cup to battle for which is their German Bundesliga.
