The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has felicitated with all Nigerians on the joyous occasion of this year’s Christmas.
The PRP in its 2019 Christmas message, which was signed by the party’s National Chairman, Mallam Falalu Bello stated that there is the need for all Nigerians to dedicate themselves to the virtues of peace, love, honesty, justice, equity, piety, humility and service to others which characterised the life of Jesus Christ.
The party also called on the government to end the problems of insecurity, abject poverty and hunger that have been besetting Nigerians for long. It further exhorted leaders at all levels to serve all Nigerians with selflessness and fear of God.
The Rise of Insecurity During Christmas Period
“We are all aware of the serious security situation Nigeria has found itself in consequent of lack of commitment to protecting lives and properties of the ordinary people. Let us therefore pray to God to salvage the nation from the clutches of the nefarious ones among us. After that, we call on the Government to put a decisive end to the problems that have been bedevilling Nigerians for long, particularly insecurity, hunger and penury.
“Our leaders at all levels should apply the virtues that characterize this day – sacrifice, love, and charity – and serve all Nigerians selflessly and with fear of God as most of the challenges distressing Nigeria as a nation are attributable to the absence of the fear of God and egocentricity and pursuit of self-centered goals over collective interests by especially people in leadership positions, particularly politicians with narrow views about leadership.” The statement reads.
In addition, the party used the Christmas occasion to call on Nigerians to embrace peace and shun violence, stating that neither Christianity nor Islam espouses violence. It also urged the Christian compatriots to pray to God for Nigerians to continue living in peace and unity.
“We also wish to use this opportunity to urge our Christian compatriots to use the occasion of this year’s Yuletide to pray fervently for our dear country, Nigeria that we can continue to live together peacefully so that we thrive as a nation.
“The PRP is using the occasion of this Christmas to also urge Nigerians of all faiths to tolerate and live in peace with one another since neither Christianity nor Islam, the two major religions in the country advocates violence. Let us all embrace peace and shun the inflammatory sermons of those who promote violence and disunity.” The statement reads.
The party has finally wished Nigerians God’s guidance and abundant blessings as they celebrate the Christmas.
