Frank Lampard and his troops Chelsea were beaten yesterday by Manchester United in front of their home fans. Manchester United took charge of the game after the first 14 minutes after the home team had the first two shots just 10 minutes in the game.
Manchester United who have now beaten Chelsea consecutively for three times this season, the first came in the EPL Matchday 1. The second time was in the Carabao Cup when United thrashed Chelsea 2-1 in front of their fans at the Stanford Bridge. Yester night’s own was the third and the second time United is beating at home this season.
The first goal came from a cross from England international Aaron Wan Bissaka which Anthony Martial headed into the net. United was in front from the first of the game and they were also winning on possession. The second goal came from January signing Bruno Fernandez corner Kick which Harry Maguire headed into the net. Odion Ighalo had his debut for the united team and head a shot on target but was saved by the leg of the Chelsea goal keeper.
The game has a couple of issues which VAR resolved and to many VAR made the very wrong decisions. The first was in the 21st minute of the game when Harry Maguire kicked Batshuaiyi after a review it was concluded no red card. The Blues had two of their goals disallowed and Chelsea boss thinks VAR made mistakes in most of their final decisions.
The home team boss Frank Lampard is having the toughest of times now as a manager. The manager expressed his discomfort with the performance of Belgium attacker Batshuayi. The Belgian is not a natural taker of goals when presented with time.
Manchester United are now in the seventh position with three points behind Chelsea. Chelsea on the other hand are still in the fourth position with 41 points. They will be traveling to face former boss Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspurs in the weekend before playing German giant Bayern Munich in the Champions League next week.
