Hudson-Odoi Inspired Chelsea Comeback as Chelsea Came from Three goals Down to 3:3
Tammy Abraham of Chelsea scored a stoppage-time equaliser to complete an incredible comeback and rescue a point for Chelsea at West Bromwich Albion after they had trailed 3-0 at half-time. After losing 2-0 to Liverpool in their last game Chelsea came late into the game but did well in the second-half to make amends for their first-half errors.
Robinson gave the home side the opener in the first five minutes of the game through an assist from Costa Pereira, the player went ahead to double the lead in the 24th minute of the game after new signing Thiago Silva made a mistake. Robinson capitalized on the mistake and scored his brace. The third goal came just two minutes after the second goal came, the goal came from Bartley through Furlong assist with a header.
The first-half ended in favor of the home side but Chelsea went into the dressing room and came with two new players introduced to the team. Hudson-Odoi who scored the second goal was very instrumental in Chelsea comeback, Chelsea started the comeback when Mount fired in a well placed shot in the 55 minute of the game.
The second came from a one-two pass from Kai Harvertz and Hudson-Odoi in the 70th minute of the game, the comeback was completed in the 90+ minute of the game as Tammy Abraham scored his first goal of the season to level the scores 3:3. Acording to Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham he said: “In the first half we made it difficult for ourselves. I had a chance I should have put away and one I should be taking at this level. They scored from every shot. We knew we had to come out in the second half and not drop our heads – and that’s what we did.”
Frank Lampard commeneting on the game said: “We all went in and our heads were down and he had to lift us up. He said we didn’t look like a team ready to go out and win and we needed to pick each other up in the second half. Thankfully Mason [Mount] got the goal which meant we could believe. I knew we’d get chances but to come back from 3-0 is never easy. The boys deserve credit, they kept going.” “We need to cut out the mistakes as a team so we don’t concede. We need to be strong together and keep encouraging one another.”
