Champions League Round of 16 Clash City to Play Real Madrid
Manchester City will be hosting Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League last-16 second leg, the game will be played at the Etihad Stadium. Champions League governing body Uefa has confirmed all outstanding second-leg ties in the Champions League and Europa League will be held at the home teams’ stadiums behind closed doors.
Manchester City will host Real Madrid on either 7th or 8th of August, while Chelsea faces Bayern Munich away. In the Europa League, Wolves will be playing home to Olympiakos and Manchester United will welcome LASK on the 5th or 6th of August.
Both competitions were suspended in March because of the coronavirus pandemic after the majority of first legs had been played. Manchester City is wining on aggregate they won 2-1 in the first leg of the game, while Chelsea is 3-0 down already against Bayern. In the Europa League, Manchester United is 5-0 up on LASK and Wolves are level at 1-1 having scored an away goal in their first leg. Rangers will travel to Germany to fight to else ou their 3-1 lose to Bayer Leverkusen.
Inter Milan against Getafe and Sevilla against Roma will both be played as single-leg ties in Germany after the coronavirus situation in Italy and Spain in March resulted in both first legs being called off.
Uefa also confirmed that the ‘final eight’ tournaments for both competitions will be played behind closed doors and without spectators present. The Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all be held in Lisbon from 12 to 23 August.
