Manchester United assistant skipper Bruno Fernandes has declared that the entire United players are entirely behind their head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. On Wednesday night, the Red Devils came back from 2-0 down to beat Italian Serie A side Atalanta 3-2 in the Champions League, ending their three games without a win.
Bruno Fernandes Backs Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Solskjaer has received criticism for his selection and the team’s poor performance, but the manager came to commend his players; he said his players deserve respect following the comeback. They will face Liverpool on Sunday, and Fernandes has rejected any suggestion that United’s star players are not willing to play for the Norwegian anymore.
Bruno Fernandes said: “Of course he is our coach. We follow him every day. We show that. We follow his ideas, and we will continue to do so.” He also said: “We believe in our coach and our staff. We need to do what the coach tells us because our coach is the maximum exponent of respect. He has been here for three years, and we’ve done good things. Indeed, we haven’t won anything up to now, but the team has shown it has grown a lot.”
The Portuguese international also said: “We have a lot to improve on, and the coach also knows there has to be some improvement at their end, but that is part of football.” United currently sit five points adrift of Premier League frontrunners Chelsea.
