Brazilian Star Neymar Jnr to be Quarantined in France
Paris Saint-Germain and Brazilian star player Neymar is set to return to Paris after spending the coronavirus pandemic break in his native land Brazil. The player left France and went to his country as the coronavirus pandemic case became very serious in Europe, the Brazilian star is now set to return to his club side Paris Saint-Germain in France as the league is about to resume.
France is reopening her borders today Saturday and the Brazilian star is looking to link up with the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain players in order to prepare for their upcoming Champions League commitments. According to L’Equipe, upon his return to Paris, Neymar could be forced to observer a mandatory 15-day self-quarantine period at his home before joining his colleagues in training.
The option is being considered by the French government for those arriving from countries with a high rate of coronavirus infections, which Brazil happens to be one of such countries. Neymar had planned to return on the 21st of June and resume training the next day but, given the current situation and the potential quarantine order, the player might not be with his teammates until two weeks time.
The Ligue 1 season was terminated prematurely and Paris Saint-Germain was declared the league title winners, with them also in the Champions League quarter-finals. The French Ligue One is the only league in the top five Europe clubs to terminate their league, the Italian Seria A and English Premier League are set to resume while the German Bundesliga and Spanish La Liga has already resumed.
The Spanish La Liga resumed recently with Sevilla hosting Real Betis in the Sevilla derby on Thursday, the game ended in favour of the home team Sevilla. The transfer window will also open shortly, and speculation around the future of Neymar is likely to resume as he is looking at a return to the Spanish league with Barcelona and Real Madrid showing interest in the player.
