A suspected Boko Haram fighter who was captured by troops of the Nigerian Army, Mohammed Adam has revealed a new detail about the leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau.
The suspect, who claimed that he knows Shekau personally revealed that he can no longer walk properly due to an injury sustained during an air bombardment of their camp in Timbuktu, Sambisa Forest.
According to the suspect, Shekau can no longer lead any operation physically.
Adam described himself as a well-trained insurgents war front soldier who specialized in weapons handling including AK-47 rifles and GPMG as well as planting IEDs along troops patrol route.
It was gathered that the suspect narrated that he was abducted by Boko Haram at the age of 10 and had lived five years in captivity before his arrest.
Adam said he escaped from one of the camps in Sambisa forest due to hardship and hunger, resulting from a cholera outbreak.
The Suspect added that the cholera outbreak left over 500 militants and their families in critical condition.
