Is this a propaganda tactic by Beauty and her fanbase or is the BBNaija show really a place where prejudice plays a role? Following Chichi’s misconduct and Biggie’s reaction to it, there has been an uproar by Beauty’s fanbase that Biggie is biased.
This reestablishes Tacha’s stance that “Biggie dey play partial”. Tacha was also a victim of disqualification during season 4 of the show. On a scale of comparison, ‘BeeNavy’s’ feel Chichi should have been disqualified also.
The fact that events didn’t play according to their expectations has resulted in a lot of negative comments. They have gone as far as recalling Beauty’s opinion after her first diary section, where she said, “i feel Biggie dislikes me”.
Chichi has gotten into so many confrontations in the house, first with Bella, then Ilebaye, Eloswag and more recently Diana. During her altercation with Diana over wardrobe space, she broke Diana’s perfume and threw Diana’s wig.
Her actions were highly provocative and these did not even earn her a strike from Biggie, but rather she was issued a strong warning and the promise of punishment. While it is unarguable that she deserves a strike, it does not prove that Beauty’s disqualification was unwarranted or driven by certain sentiments Biggie might have.
Beauty’s actions were not only provocative to other housemates, she destroyed Biggie’s property and got physically violent with both Ilebaye and Groovy. The uncouth behaviour she exhibited twice under the influence of alcohol would have continued in Biggie’s house without the appropriate step Biggie took.
The ‘bring back Beauty’ campaign is as expected clouded by sentiments and while it would be unfair to judge Big Brother’s house based on such gang-fused emotions, one cannot help but ask, why was Chichi not issued a strike?
