The 2022 Ballon d’Or award which was held last and Real Madrid and France forward Karim Benzema awarded the winner has gotten many talking about how good it is to celebrate your friends when they win.

The win was a deserved one for him pictures were going around online of when he was clapping hands for Ronaldo and Ramos when they won big in the Uefa award. Benzema scored 44 goals in 46 games as he helped Real win the Champions League and La Liga in 2021-22.

The award which is mostly won by Paris St-Germain Lionel Messi (seven) and Manchester United Cristiano Ronaldo (five) in the last 13 years had the two-player out of the top ten best players in the world presently.
Bayern Munich’s Sadio Mane, who was at Liverpool in 2021-22, was second ahead of Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne. The Ballon d’Or is awarded to the best footballer of the year, based on performance over the 2021-22 season.
Karim Benzema is the first Frenchman to win the award since 1998 when Zinedine Zidane won it last. The ceremony which was held in Paris saw French F1 driver Esteban Ocon arrive at the Theatre du Chatelet with the Ballon d’Or trophy in a racing car. Benzema has now set a new record as the second France player in the last two decades to win the award.

Speaking about his new achievement he said: “This prize in front of me makes me proud.” He also said: “When I was small, it was a childhood dream, I never gave up. Anything is possible.
“I’m really proud of my journey here. It wasn’t easy, it was a difficult time for my family as well.” The 34-year-old, who has been at Real Madrid since 2009, is expected to play a key role for France at the World Cup in Qatar which starts on 20 November. The Ballon d’Or is voted for by 100 journalists from around the world.
