Arsenal Boss Arteta Says Partey will have to Proove he is ready Before he will get his Debut
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed that new signing Thomas Partey has two training sessions to convince him he is ready to make his Arsenal debut against Manchester City. The 25-year-old Ghanian joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid on deadline day in a deal which is valued at £45million. He has spent the international break with Ghana and played 90 minutes during friendlies with Mali and Qatar.
The manager said the player is open to the idea of handing him a debut against Manchester City at the weekend. Arteta said the player just on Wednesday getting familiar with everything around the club. Partey will have his first training session, and then he will then tell if he is ready to play or not.
According to the manager he said: “Everything has to come really quickly for him.” “We knew that before we signed him. But he’s fit, he’s very willing to start playing. We will see how he goes in the next few days.” “I think it’s something very individual depending on many factors: how they settle in the city with the family, whether they speak the language, whether their qualities fitted the Premier League more. It’s very particular, you see players adapting really quickly and others taking a long time.”
