Signs of restoring Twitter, the microblogging social platform, look promising, as the company has reassured its Nigerian subscribers of recommencing operations soonest.
In a live television interview with a representative from Twitter, although name unconfirmed, it was gathered that they’ve been in talks and some productive discussions with the Federal Government of Nigeria over reinstating the platform.
Yesterday, the Social Network Company made this disclosure while reacting to President Muhammadu Buhari’s conditional lifting of the four-month suspension.
It would be noted the social media platform, which is currently banned in Nigeria, says it looks forward to having its operations reinstated in the most populous African country.
Restoring Twitter
The unnamed Twitter spokesperson revealed the position of the company on the matter. He said, “We continue to engage with the Nigerian government, and we are committed to charting a path forward to the restoration of Twitter for everyone in Nigeria.
On Friday, October 1, everyevery.ng reported that Twitter suspension will be lifted if the social network company meets the required conditions.
Buhari said that the issues to be resolved include National Security and Cohesion; Registration, Physical Presence and Representation; Fair Taxation; Dispute Resolution; and Local Content.
