AC Milan Gets Good Ranking in Euro Club Index Positions (as at 5 January 2021)
AC Milan of the Italian Serie A has been named as the most improved European team over the past 12 months. According to football analysts Gracenote.
AC Milan will take on the defending champions of the Italian Serie A Juventus later today. They are currently sitting at the top of the Serie A table. They are one point ahead of Inter Milan and 10 points clear of Juventus who are in the fifth position.
AC Milan was named the most inform club across Europe, but the Italian side is not the only club that won something. Southampton who shocked defending English Premier League champion Liverpool 1-0 was named the most improved side in England’s top flight.
Champions League holders Bayern Munich are top of the Euro Club Index. The index, which rates teams on their domestic and European performances over the past four seasons, has Manchester City second, Liverpool third, with Barcelona fourth and Real Madrid fifth.
AC Milan finished sixth in Serie A in 2019-20, but they have jumped up from 47th in the index in January 2020 to 20th a year later. Manchester United was rated the 10th best team in Europe, with Chelsea 13th, Tottenham 15th and Arsenal 17th.
