Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino who is currently the head coach of Paris St-Germain has finally come out to clear the air. The manager has said his loss has nothing to do with the absence of France international Kylian Mbappe.
22-year-old Kylian Mbappe was an unused substitute because of a calf injury he sustained during their league game. They loss woefully to England giant Manchester City at home 2-0 which means City have sealed their Champions League final ticket with a 4-1 aggregate win.
Mauricio Pochettino Congratulates Manchester City
According to the manager, he said Manchester City were very clinical and he congratulates them as they are having a fantastic season. Paris Saint-Germain failed to break into Manchester City defence, they were unable to register a sigle shot on target in the game.
Mauricio Pochettino made it clear that Mbappe’s absence was no the reason for their loss and that cannot be an excuse. He said they are team and they played well but City were better and thats why City won. The former Tottenham and Espanyol manager also said they played the game they planned to play, the started really well, and they created chances and also dominated at some point which is not easy, he ended by saying they were unlucky.
Paris Saint-germain will now focus on their league title, they are currently in the second-place position with one point below the leaders Lille.
