Nigerian international who plays for Italian Serie A side Crotone forward Simy Nwankwo has come out to say he will be happy to return to the Super Eagles but if he is not called he will not be offended.
Simy Nwankwo made it known that he is not desperate to play for the Super Eagles not that he will not be happy if called to play but he will not kill himself to play for Nigeria. This is because of the comment made by the Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rgor who said he must leave his club side Crotone if he wants to be called into the national team again.
Simy Nwankwo was a surprise call-up to the Nigeria 2018 World Cup squad but has since been overlooked by head coach Gernot Rohr. The 28-year-old has so far scored 19 goals for his club side in the Italian Serie A this season.
Simy Nwankwo Not Worried About Snob from Eagles Coach
Despite his impressive performances for Crotone Super Eagles coach has said the player is not in his plans at the moment. According to Simiy, he said he will not say he is bothered about the Super Eagles.
He however said he is a fan of the national team as patriotic citizen of the country. He also said he shares the same dream and ambition of every young footballer to one day represent his country but is not in his place to go to the national team if he is not invited.
Simy Nwankwo has decided to focus on what he can control according to him which is his day-to-day performances, improvement, becoming better every day, working hard and doing the things I have to do for my club.
