Eric Bailly renews Manchester United contract
The Ivory Coast international said he did not have to deliberate before agreeing on terms that will run until June 2024, with the option of a further year. He aims to remain injury-free, lift the Europa League trophy this term, and then sustain a push for the Premier League title in 2021/22.
The centre-back, who joined from Villarreal in 2016, accepts it is important for any player to have that stability off the pitch by resolving their future and is pleased to have the faith of the manager and his staff.
Bailly, 27, won the Europa League with the Reds in 2017, and the Reds meet Roma in the first leg of the semi-final of this year’s competition at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, expressed his pleasure at the Ivorian’s new deal.
