Chelsea will be travelling to Romania to play Spanish La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid without key defender Thiago Silva. The Brazilian will miss the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, which comes up later day Tuesday.
Although the defender will be missing, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic are back to the starting line-up as they are both fits again.
Atletico Madrid Injury List
Atletico Madrid is not left out in the injury news as they have the likes of Jose Gimenez, Sime Vrsaljko and Yannick Carrasco. It is expected that Hector Herrera will be absent as he recently tested positive for Covid-19.
Luis Suarez and Joao Felix will be leading the attack against the English Premier League side. English right-back Kieran Trippier will miss the game, too, as he serves a suspension for breaking betting rules.
Chelsea has been unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions since Thomas Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard in January. Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, has lost their two last league games.
The venue was moved from Madrid to Bucharest due to coronavirus travel restrictions which is a disadvantage to Atletico. Chelsea manager sees this as an advantage for his side.
