The victory for Chelsea is a big relief for the manager Frank Lampard who is currently under pressure with three to four different coaches already in line to take his job because of the club’s poor performance.
Abraham slotted in from Timo Werner’s cut-back before nodding in his second from Reece James’ chip. The visitors tried to come back to game as Jordan Clark capitalized on an error made by keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the 30th minute of the game.
Chelsea went into the halftime break with shoulders high as they were leading 2:1. Tammy Abraham came back stronger as he poked home the third to his hat trick and seal their victory. The goals would have reach four but Timo Werner missed a penalty.
Chelsea is now through to the next stage and they will face will face Championship side Barnsley in the fifth round of the English F.A Cup.
