Luis Suarez Returns to Action
Former Liverpool and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez could make La Liga return for Atletico Madrid against Real Valladolid this weekend after he returned a negative result. The player was cleared of the deadly coronavirus earlier this week. He has been out for about a month now since returning from international duty for his country. Luis Suarez tested positive for coronavirus some weeks back and was placed in self-isolation.
He missed out on their 3-0 triumph over Colombia as well as the 2-0 defeat to five-time world champions Brazil last month. Suarez has been in isolation since contracting the coronavirus but he is now confirmed negative and can return to his teammates. A report was sent to the club management and it says: “Luis Suarez will join the group training sessions of the first team tomorrow at the Wanda de Majadahonda Sports City, after having tested negative in the official LaLiga PCR test.”

“The Uruguayan, after overcoming Covid-19 and complying with all health protocols, rejoins the discipline of the group and will be under Simeone’s orders again.” Luis Suarez who joined Athletico Madrid recently has contributed greatly to the team before he faced the setback. Diego Simeone will be counting on the experience of the striker as they host Valladolid in their weekend La Liga clash. He will also be ready to play the Uefa Champions League return leg against Salzburg on Wednesday, December 9.
Atletico are currently second on the La Liga table with 23 points from nine matches and a win could see them rise to the summit if Real Sociedad faulters this weekend.
