Arsenal Extends Winning Run to the Carabao Cup
Arsenal outshines Leicester City in the Carabao Cup clash last night, Christian Fuchs own goal and Eddie Nketiah’s second-half goal gave Arsenal a comfortable 2-0 victory over Leicester City and set up a potential Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Liverpool or Lincoln City who are playing today.
There was little Fuchs could do as Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe’s angled effort hit him after coming off the post and went in. Nketiah settled the clash in the closing minutes of the game after fine work from substitute Hector Bellerin. Earlier, Leicester’s City’s James Maddison hit the post on his first start of 2020-21.
Wednesday’s result continued the Gunners’ impressive start to the season, during which they have won the Community Shield on penalties and secured back-to-back Premier League victories. Arsenal young lad Bukayo Saka again demonstrated his readiness for regular first-team action as he was actively involved in the game.
