Tottenham Hotspur Records first Coronavirus case in their camp
With less than two weeks to resume the English Premier League, the English Premier League has recorded a new case of coronavirus, Tottenham Hotspur has recorded one positive coronavirus case in their camp. This was made known after the latest round of testing for the coronavirus result was released by the Premier League.
The name of the player is however, not mentioned yet but he will now be self-isolated for seven days. According to a report from Tottenham Hotspur to the English Premier League it says: “Due to medical confidentiality, the individual’s name will not be disclosed.” This statement was from the Spurs website.
The result is the only positive result after a total of 1,197 players and staff were tested and checked in the latest round of testing. There have now recorded a total of five rounds of testing for Covid-19, and they have recorded a total of 13 positive cases in the whole 5,079 tests took.
The English Premier League like every other league across Europe are looking at a quick resumption of the league and players and staff are currently tested twice a week, with the league set to resume on 17 June. The positive result recoded in Tottenham Hotspur camp is the first since the coronavirus outbreak hit England, they have not recorded any case in their club but their players have been so much involved in breaking of the lockdown rules.
