The 63-year-old will be introduced to the media today and take charge of the team for the first time at Crystal Palace on Sunday this weekend. United board said: “As all paperwork has now been completed, we will hold an in-person press conference with Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford at 9:00 am tomorrow.”
The club board has given him the target of top-four qualification and winning the FA Cup this season. Rangnick was confirmed as Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s replacement on Monday but had to wait for a work permit from the UK government to begin his role at Old Trafford.
He was manager of sports and development at Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow before his appointment at Manchester United. Caretaker manager Michael Carrick resigned after United beat Arsenal 3-2 Arsenal at Old Trafford after overseeing a Champions League win at Villarreal and a Premier League draw at Chelsea.
The club says Rangnick will remain as manager until the end of the season before starting a two-year consultancy role at United.
