Weeks after Manchester City and France left-back Benjamin Mendy was detained for sexual assault, another English Premier League player Bissouma who plays for Brighton and Hove Albion, was arrested at a nightclub in Brighton early on Wednesday.
Bissouma to Face Court over Sexual Assult
Bissouma, who is in his 20s, is not the only one being questioned by the police, a man in his 40s is also being questioned, Sussex Police said. The woman is receiving specialist support from officers. Brighton and Hove Albion FC said it was helping police with the investigation, so the player will not be in their forthcoming games pending investigation.
Brighton and Hove Albion said in a statement that they would support the police to get full justice. The statement reads, “The matter is subject to a legal process, and the club is, therefore, unable to make further comment at this time.”
