Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has come out to link Super Eagles star striker Victor Osimhen to Romelu Lukaku. The former player said the Nigerian and Napoli striker is Lukaku’s heir. Zola, who also played for Napoli during his playing days (1989 – 1993), said this in an interview.
After a not too impressive start to the season following his sending off against Venezia, Osimhen has scored three goals in his last two games for the Italian Serie A side Napoli. He bagged a brace in their first leg of the Europa League against Premier League side Leicester City.
On Monday, he opened his side scoring as they thrashed Udinese 4-0 to make it four straight wins in the league. In his first season for the Partenopei, the 22-year-old scored ten goals in 30 appearances. And commenting on Osimhen and Napoli’s performance, ola said: “Napoli are really strong in every department.”

He also said: “They have Osimhen, Insigne and Politano up front, they have quality in midfield, a solid defence with Kalidou Koulibaly and two reliable goalkeepers. I can’t see weak points in their team.” “I didn’t know Osimhen when he arrived last year, but I’ve studied him a little, and I’ve discovered a talented player.”
“His movements are so good, and his athletic strength can be devastating. He is Lukaku’s heir. He is still young and with room for improvement.”
