Leicester City head coach Brendan Rodgers has criticised the referee for issuing Super Eagle player Wilfred Ndidi a red card. During Leicester City’s 2-2 draw with Napoli in Thursday’s Europa League clash, the Nigerian star was sent off.
Brendan Rodgers Faults Referee for Sending Ndidi Out
Brendan Rodgers said the Portuguese official Tiago Martins “wasn’t very good” in the game, which saw Leicester give up a two-goal lead, and Ndidi given a red in injury time. Ndidi picked up his first yellow early in the game; with a shirt tug just before the final whistle, he was then sent off.

According to the former Liverpool manager Breden Rodgers, he said: “I didn’t think the referee was very good,” Rodgers said when asked for his thoughts on the dismissal.” “He (Ndidi) was unfortunate and has done really well to get through the game to get to that point after the early yellow. He’s just trying to stop the attacker.”
“It was a little bit harsh. I didn’t think the first one was yellow. I didn’t think the referee was great.” After Ayoze Perez and Harvey, Barnes put Leicester 2-0 ahead, Nigeria and Super Eagles Victor Osimhen netted a brace to help Napoli earn a share of the spoils.
