The former Arsenal player provided two assists in the encounter played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The Super Eagles star player took to his social media handle and wrote: “Honoured To Win “Most Valuable Player” Of The Game #UpSuperEagles.” On Tuesday, the Super Eagles will take on the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde in their second Group C game at the Estadio Municipal Aderito Sena, Mindelo.
The win is the first in many months for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. They had been dropping in the FIFA ranking since November last year. They will be playing Cape Verde on the 7th of September for the second leg of the Quater 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria is currently topping Group C with three points, while Cape Verde is with the Republic of Central Africa.
