14 Players Test Positive for Coronavirus in Genoa
Fourteen players and staff members of Serie A side Genoa have now tested positive for coronavirus, this information was confirmed by the club confirmed on Monday. Genoa reported at the weekend that Denmark international midfielder Lasse Schone and goalkeeper Mattia Perin had contracted the virus.
In a statement, the club said they had “activated all procedures” and “informed the authorities”. Genoa played against Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen side Napoli and lost 6-0 on Sunday. Their next game was to be against Torino on Saturday, the 3rd of October in their home ground, the club has said they will provide updates as to whether their players are fit enough for the game as they fourteen players are currently in self-isolation.
Also, in the English Premier League, ten players have been confirmed positive for the coronavirus according to the last teat that was carried out on the players. Right now it is only Spain and France in the top European leagues that is yet to record any fresh coronavirus case.
