The Imo state government has announced that a total of 13 members of house of assembly in the state have tested positive for coronavirus.
The lawmakers of the state were told to go for compulsory coronavirus testing last week at Evaright Diagnostic Centre Owerri by the governor of the state when a member of the statehouse tested positive for coronavirus.
The status of the lawmakers of the state was made known on Tuesday during a press briefing by Prof Maurice Iwu who is the chairman of Imo state task force team on COVID-19.
Prof Iwu said the 13 members of house of assembly have now been put in different isolation centres in the state where they would be properly handled.
The governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma was recently in Edo state to conduct the Edo APC governorship primaries.
