Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Engr. Olufunso Adebiyi, FNSE has commenced the procurement processes of goods, works, consultancy and other services as approved in the Federal Government’s Budget of 2022 for the Ministry.
As contained in a statement signed by Olujimi Oyetomi, Director of Press & Public Relations, and posted on Facebook, it revealed that the opening of bids submitted for the various categories and lots, by several contractors which had expressed interest in procuring the goods, works, consultancy and other services for the Ministry.
Earlier, the Ministry advertised in two national newspapers, as well as in Federal Tenders Journal as required by the Procurement Act of 2007 (and as amended in 2014) inviting for pre-qualification and expression of interest for implementation of 2022 Capital Budget of the Ministry to interested contractors and other persons.
As advertised then, for the works category, there was the installation of Solar Panel and Inverter as well as construction/renovation works.

There was also purchase of vehicles, general supplies, computerization/networking materials and supply of empowerment materials.
Women Affairs Harp on Training Female Gender
For consultancy and services, the Ministry sought for training and development of women, insurance of Ministry’s assets, digitalization and archiving of records for standard operating procedures of the Ministry’s activities, engagement of youths’ job creation (PPF) desk and consultancy services for database software for the Ministry’s Finance and Accounts’ Department. In the same category of consultancy services was the consultancy for the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) Country Periodic Report.
Among the eligibility requirement from contractors and others that expressed interest in the procurement process of the Ministry were evidence of certificate of incorporation of the contractor’s company and current annual assets to Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as well as tax clearance certificate.
