Nigerian music superstar, Ayo Balogun Ibrahim, popularly known as Wizkid has claimed his 3rd win in the just concluded BET 2020 awards.
The BET Awards 2020 was done virtually due with live performances from top music artists like Lil Wayne, Jennifer Hudson, Usher Raymond, Megan Thee Stallion, and so on.
Nigerian artists came through with wins at the 2020 edition. Burnaboy won his 2nd consecutive BET awards, while Wizkid claimed his 3rd win in the BET Her category.
Wizkid Wins 3rd BET Awards
Wizkid picked up his 3rd BET awards out of 5 nominations so far with South African, AKA with 3 nominations with no win.
Wizkid won his first BET awards in the Best International Act category in 2011. He won in the same category in 2016 and have lost out in 2 nominations till date.
The ‘Joro’ singer has added to his award cabinet as he won the BET her award alongside South African, Anatii. The Nigerian won as a a result of the collaboration with American singer, Beyonce on ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
He is now artist with the most win (3) from Africa in the prestigious music awards. Other notable winners include Davido, Burnaboy, 2face Idibia, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Ice Prince, and Black Coffee.
