Ramon Calderon, the former Real Madrid President, has revealed why Jose Mourinho was not handed the reigns at Real Madrid and why Madrid instead, opted for Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane was unveiled on Monday, after the club sacked Santiago Solari.
Calderon claimed Real Madrid players kicked against the idea of Jose Mourinho returning to the football club once again as manager.
Before now, Jose was heavily linked to the position and Ramon Calderon still insists that the former Manchester United Manager was the current president, Florentino Perez’s first choice.
Calderon however thinks Real Madrid have been lucky to convince Zidane to return as manager and feels it is a good choice for the club. Although he thinks Mourinho is a very good manager who has won a lot of trophies but insisted his time at the club previously left problems and the potential appointment left fans divided.
