Abba Kyari
Now that the Chief if staff to the President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari is dead and buried, the question is who is going to be the next Abba Kyari? Who is going to sit on that seat? Who will be the next Cheif of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?
When Buhari was sworn in as President, he took his time to announce persons who made it to the list of his kitchen cabinet on August 28. The list steered the country with so many questions were asked about the competence of those on the list.
Many raise eyebrows about the lack of respect to the federal character principle n the appointments made by the President.
Those comments were mere noise to the people lucky enough to find their names on the list, as the federal government defined these appointments by saying it was the President’s choice and right to decide who will be a member of his kitchen cabinet.
It was also added the President needed to appoint those he believes he can trust with his vision for the country, and that was exactly what he did.
List of some Buhari’s Cabinet Members After Swearing-In
- ADC – L.t Col.Abubarkar Lawal from Kaduna State. He is the husband of Buhari’s foster daughter.
- State Chief of Protocol – Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure from Jigawa
- Director-General of Department of State Security – Lawal Daura from Katsina State
- National Security Adviser – Babagana Monguno from Borno State.
- Chief Of Staff – Abba Kyari from Borno State.
- Director-Generall of Budget Office – Aliyu Gusau from Zamfara State.
- Secretary of the Government of the Federation – Babachir David Lawal from Adamawa State.
- Special Adviser, Media and Publicity- Garba Shehu from Kano State.
All of these noises had since gone down and are now history with some of the cabinet members in messy scandals and subsequent removal.
Now that another blow has unfortunately hit President Muhammadu Buhari’s Cabinet members, a replacement is the next thing. No vacuum can exist in life, so we expect this a new Abba Kyari to be announced soon.
The question is, who will that be and where will the person come from? More women have been clamoured for in the Buhari’s government, so will the next Chief of Staff to the President be a woman?
Abba Kyari was from Borno State, so will the new Chief of Staff be coming from his state? How soon will this be coming?
Definately, lobbing would have started and many would be looking for ways that lead to the seat of late Abba Kyari, but will this work for them? Will Buhari pick the next person himself or he will take nomination suggestions.
