Lagos State is currently experiencing terrible flooding, especially on Lagos Island. Many homes and business have been destroyed by flood as a result of the heavy rain going on for a couple of days in Lagos.
People are seen wading through the knee level water in an attempt to get out of their homes and get to their businesses.

Ubi Franklin, the CEO of Triple MG record label, a serial entrepreneur and father of many children was among the many affected by the flood. He posted his experience on his Instagram account. In his story, his guest room was destroyed and flooded by the storm and heavy downpour. Luckily, no one was hurt from the incident. See post below.
Ubi Franklin’s house is just one amongst many. There was also another video of a woman asking for a refund of her rent. Apparently, she is very sure the flood inside her home did not flow in from outside. She claims the foundation of the house is bad and that is why the floor is soaking water.

This issue of flood on Lagos Island has become more or less an annual occurrence. This has led to agitations especially on social media on why the government cannot handle the issue of drainages properly so as to prevent the flood from happening subsequently. Some others are of the opinion that the flood is not as a result of faulty or blocked drainages. Many of them think the land in that area is not capable of absorbing large amount of water, hence the steady flooding.
