The Jos prison break incident that occurred yesterday in the capital of Plateau State has taken another dimension as the authorities have noted that about two hundred and fifty-two prisoners cannot be accounted for after repelling the attack by armed hoodlums.
However, the same prison authorities revealed that nine of the inmates were killed during that attack on the facilities, stressing that six out of the entire prisoners sustained varying degrees of severe and life-threatening injuries.
According to a statement issued by Francis Enobore, the Public Relations Officer of the Jos Correctional Centre, JCC, the attack led to the tragic death of an officer of the law who fought gallantly among his pairs.
The Public Relations Officer further revealed that their encounter with the criminally-minded miscreants led to the unmasking of one of their accomplices, who was spotted amidst the total casualties recorded for the day.
