The Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has confirmed on his Twitter handle that there was a loud blast in Akure, the state capital.
It was gathered that, the explosion injured over thirteen persons and destroyed more than Sixty houses and other property worth millions of Naira.
Earlier in a post on his twitter handle, the Governor said, “I have been briefed by security agencies in the state concerning the loud blast that was heard in Akure.

I will be at the scene to assess on the advise of heads of our security agencies.
The Governor also asked that citizens remain calm “I ask that all citizens remain calm as we ascertain details of the incidence”.
Everyevery.ng gathered that residents of Iluabo were shocked by an explosion that occurred in the area at about 1 am on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the number of casualties and the extent of damage is yet unclear.
