Former Chelsea and Newcastle United Ghanian forward Christian Atsu have been reported to suffer extensive damage following the earthquake that happened in Turkey a few days ago. According to reports, the 31-year-old who had spells with Everton and Bournemouth is currently battling for his life.

It was also gathered that Hatayspor sporting director Taner Savut is still in the collapsed building. Hatay was one of the areas closest to the epicentre of the earthquake. The Ghanaian Football Association tweeted: “We’ve received some positive news that Christian Atsu has been successfully rescued from the rubble of the collapsed building and is receiving treatment.
