Unsurprisingly, the immediate past President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has thrown his support on Nigeria’s recent Twitter ban decision.
“Congratulations to the country of Nigeria, who just banned Twitter because they banned their President,” Trump said.
The former President wasn’t economical with words when he referred to the microblogging platform as ‘Evil’.
Trump backs Nigeria
Trump issued a statement late Tuesday night, where he called on other nations to emulate Nigeria on banning Twitter, which he further described as a platform that dictates what’s good or evil.
The jab of words from the controversial leader did not spare Facebook. He also asked new social media competitors to swing into action and occupy the media space.
His words, “More COUNTRIES should ban Twitter and Facebook for not allowing free and open speech—all voices should be heard.
Recall that Donald Trump himself was shut out of Twitter permanently, following the riot incident that occurred in January, at the United States Capitol, during the heat of the elections.
On the other hand, Facebook joined in the campaign against Trump and his conducts. The review board announced that the ‘Make America Great Again’ initiator would be kept out of the social media platform until January 7, 2023.
Then, Trump fired back, saying Facebook should be stopped from silencing and censoring people.
