Trouble is looming in Port Harcourt, Rivers state after a policeman was alleged to have killed a Keke rider in the early hours of Thursday.

A trending video shows the Keke rider identified to as “Schoolboy” lifeless in the pool of his blood.

A man, Okechukwu, who claimed to be a brother of the late rider narrated that he was outside his house cleaning his keke before starting the day’s hustle when one of his fellow rider told him that the police sent him back as it was not yet time for them to start operating.


He added that he was still cleaning his keke when news reached him that “Schoolboy has been shot and killed by some policemen in Rukpokwu area of Port Harcourt.

According to Okechukwu they body of killed rider was taken to the police station but the police officers do not want them to approach the station.

he said about three other protesters have been shot in the leg by the police officers at the same police station.

Another report said he was killed because he refused to give the police officer who shot him a N100 bribe.

As at the time of filling this report, protests are ongoing in the state, the a police van was set ablaze while vehicular movement in the area has been paralised.
