Tragedy Hits Kafur LGA as Gunmen Kill Newly-Elected Councilor

Its all tears in Kafur Local Government Area, LGA in Katsina State as gunmen invaded the community in motorbikes and brutally murdered the Gozarki Ward Councilor around 12:15 am on Wednesday.

Sadly, the Councilor was newly-elected and have not really spent time in office to perform the duty which he was voted into office for recently.

His name, Nasiru Magaji, was killed in the wee hours after his election on April 11 on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, along with several other executive officials in the 34 council areas of the state.

A source in the area reported to newsmen the bandits shot sporadically and attacked houses without hindrance, and kidnapped two women in the area as well.

The source lamented that such attacks have become frequent in the area and called on the government to address the situation.

In recent past, it was gathered thousands of residents from the Kafur community have were either killed, kidnapped or displaced from their homes.

The local government area is the same place where the state governor, Aminu Masari hails from and have been heavily plagued by insecurity, especially from the hands of bandits, kidnappers, terrorists and unknown gunmen.
