Not less than 50 girls who were trafficked from Nigeria to Lebanon have been rescued. Taking to his twitter account to reveal so, the Nigeria Minister for Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama confirmed this. He added that about 19 Nigerians who were also stranded in Lebanon were returned back to the country too.

In his tweet, he confirmed that the trafficked Nigerian Girls who were rescued alongside the 19 stranded nationals arrived the country on Sunday 24th May 2020.
Earlier, there was a report of a Nigerian girl who was put up for sale by a Lebanese man.
That gave rise to a social media revolution calling out the man and his likes. This led to investigations regarding underage Nigerians migrating to Lebanon under the guise of work.

The rescue of these trafficked Nigerian girls is a plus for the country and the propagation of human rights and should be applauded.
Nigerians should be weary of moving to other countries without valid documents and proper plans of survival. That usually exposes one to the possibility of being trafficked without knowing it.
